A Fairer Victoria
A Fairer Victoria 2009: Standing together through tough times
A Fairer Victoria 2009, launched by the Premier on 7 May, commits $925.6 million to protect the vulnerable and address social disadvantage across a range of initiatives.
It continues the Government’s commitment to build strong and resilient communities, and has particular relevance given extra pressure on many communities due to the economic turndown. This year’s funding brings total investment in A Fairer Victoria to more than $5 billion since 2005.
A Fairer Victoria is a whole-of-government social policy action plan that remains unique in Australia as a long-term commitment to reducing disadvantage.
This year A Fairer Victoria contains major investments in mental health, out-of-home care, disability services and Indigenous health.
