Nominations for the 2012 Victorian Indigenous Honour Roll now open

28 May 2012

The start of Reconciliation Week (27 May – 3 June) was marked with the call for nominations to the Victorian Indigenous Honour Roll.

Recognition is an important element of reconciliation. The Victorian Indigenous Honour Roll, the first of its kind in Australia, supports reconciliation by increasing people’s understanding of history and the individual contributions made by Indigenous Victorians.
The Honour Roll recognises and celebrates Indigenous Victorians who have made significant achievements in all aspects of society. To be eligible for induction to the Victorian Indigenous Honour Roll, nominees will have made, or are making important and lasting contributions that benefit their community, the State, the country or beyond.

The closing date for nominations is 20 July 2012.
