Floods Community Recovery Fund

The Victorian and Australian governments are committed to supporting flood affected communities with their recovery, and have jointly established a $4 million Community Recovery Fund.

The Fund provides financial assistance to both community organisations and local councils to:

• Restore social networks and functioning; and

• Restore community facilities.
  

The Fund can provide support to communities in the following 26 flood affected municipalities:

The first funding release of $1.55 million is now available.

• Community groups in the 26 flood-affected municipalities can apply for a Community Small Grant of up to $5,000. Application is by Expression of Interest and the closing date is 22 March 2011. See the funding guidelines and form below to make your application.
  

• Local councils in 16 of the most impacted areas will receive $50,000 each. These are: Ararat, Buloke, Campaspe, Central Goldfields, Corangamite, Gannawarra, Hepburn, Hindmarsh, Horsham, Loddon, Mildura, Mount Alexander, Northern Grampians, Pyrenees, Swan Hill, and Yarriambiack. Working with the community, councils will identify priority recovery projects that they wish to see supported with the funding received. Further funding to these councils and to other impacted councils will be considered for funding under future funding releases.
