Tram heritage study

Tram at Preston workshop

The comprehensive Melbourne Metropolitan Tramway Heritage Study was completed in 2012 by Gary Vines of Biosis Research, Melbourne.

The study consists of four parts:

  • An extensive tram history
  • A study of tramways places
  • A study of tram rolling stock
  • A listing of tram related items in collections

(Note: The findings of studies and reports prepared by consultants for Heritage Victoria, or for individual owners, are the opinion of the consultants and do not necessarily reflect the views of Heritage Victoria or the Heritage Council of Victoria, or bind the Executive Director in any way in assessing places and objects for inclusion in the Victorian Heritage Register.)
