South African and China War Memorial, Watt Street and Whitehorse Road, Box Hill
The Executive Director has recommended that the South African and China War Memorial not be included in the Heritage Register. A submission objecting to the recommendation has been received.
A Registration Hearing will be held on 25 May 2012 to determine the matter. Nine (9) copies of submissions should be lodged with this office by midday Friday, 27 April 2012.

Information for all Appeals
Anyone may make a submission to the Heritage Council in relation to the above appeals.
Please note that all written submissions received will be treated as public documents. While the Heritage Council will endeavour to respect any privacy wishes of which it is informed, it is bound by the Freedom of Information Act 1982. You should expect your submission to be freely and wholly available to anyone seeking access to it.

To enable the Heritage Council to prepare a timetable for a hearing, it is requested that those parties who wish to present their submission to the Heritage Council complete a 'Request to be heard by the Heritage Council' form (Heritage Council Hearings Protocol 5) and lodge it with their initial submission.
