Acquittal

Reporting requirements for a funded project to demonstrate that the funds have been applied in accordance with the funding agreement

Assessment

A grant application is assessed against identified criteria by one or more assessors and/or panels to produce a final recommendation on successful and unsuccessful applications

Auspice

An auspice is a legal entity (for example, an incorporated organisation) that is nominated by an applicant who is not a legal entity (for example, an unincorporated body) to sign the Funding Agreement. The Auspice then takes all legal (for example, occupational health and safety responsibility) and financial responsibility for the grant funding and project outcomes

Authorised person

This is the person who is authorised by the organisation to make the application and/or manage the funds on their behalf

Funding Agreement

Agreement between State of Victoria and the recipient relating to a grant which identifies the obligations and requirements of both parties

Financial Year

Grant funds manager

If the application is successful, the recipient or the nominated auspice is known as the Grant Funds Manager, as they sign the Funding Agreement and thereby take responsibility for the grant project funding and project outcomes

Incorporated body

An incorporated body is an association or group of people who, as a group, are recognised as a legal entity separate from its members. Incorporation requires that the association complies with the legislative provision under which it is incorporated

Ineligible

An application that does not meet the eligibility requirements identified in the guidelines for grant program

Legally constituted organisation

A legally constituted organisation is an entity which has rights and responsibilities under law. (Examples include: companies, government departments, incorporated associations)

Milestone

A grant activity that is agreed and has to be delivered as part of a funding agreement

Project location

This is the main project location, ie where the majority of your planned activity will be taking place
