Melbourne Atlas 2006 - Sustaining the Environment

Melbourne’s has a relatively large ‘ecological footprint’, reflecting factors such as our energy, transport and housing choices. Air quality has improved significantly over the last 15 years and recent water saving initiatives have seen a reduction in per capita water consumption. Read Sustaining the Environment to find out more about a number of aspects of the city’s impact on the environment - such as greenhouse gas emissions, waste, water, and flora and fauna - and the impacts of lifestyle choices and consumption levels on natural assets.
