2011 Census Products

Victorian Population Bulletin - Special Edition

To be released in July 2012

The Victorian Population Bulletin provides information on population change and the basic drivers behind that change. The Victorian Population Bulletin is produced annually in April with a special edition being produced following the release of Census data in July. The bulletin is an excellent source of straight facts and information based on regions in Victoria.

Quick Facts

To be released in June 2012

The Quick Facts product will aim to answer a variety of questions using the 2011 Census data. The questions can range from the obvious to topics of interest. Please note that as a quick release product, Quick Facts does not pose any complicated analysis questions or answers.

In Fact Tables

To be released in July 2012

The In Fact Tables allow you to see all the latest Census information for your area in one place.

Towns in Time

To be released in late 2012

Towns in Time will be updated to include data from the 2011 Census. Towns in Time features profiles and data tables of towns from regional Victoria. Previous versions of Towns in Time will be superseded by this release.

Suburbs in Time

To be released in late 2012

Suburbs in Time will be updated to include data from the 2011 Census. Suburbs in Time features profiles and data tables of suburbs from metropolitan Melbourne. Previous versions of Suburbs in Time will be superseded by this release.

Regional Profiles

To be released in July 2012 and updated December 2012

Regional profiles will provide summary data from the 2011 census basic community profiles and additional time series data. They will be customised for specific planning regions such as those covered by regional growth plans.

Melbourne Atlas

To be released in mid 2013 (tentative date)

The Melbourne Atlas provides a comprehensive picture of how Melbourne is changing and the major trends that have shaped Melbourne over the last 50 years.The Melbourne Atlas is a valuable tool for people in government, the private sector, research, education, place management and others who are interested in the factors shaping Melbourne or particular areas within Melbourne. The previous Atlas will be updated using data from the 2011 Census.

The 2006 Melbourne Atlas will be superseded by this release.

Regional Atlas

To be released in mid 2013 (tentative date)

Regional Matters publication aims to highlight issues of the impact of change on regional areas.The publication comprises eight themes: changing populations; community well-being; servicing communities; industry and skills; water in a dry land; land and people; coastal development, and energy choices. Recognising the interrelatedness of many of the issues within these themes is a key objective of the publication.The previous Atlas will be updated using data from the 2011 Census.

The 2006 Regional Atlas will be superseded by this release.

Internal Migration in Victoria

To be released in 2013

This report assists in developing an understanding of internal migration trends, their drivers and impacts and an understanding of population change in Victoria.

Changing Households in Melbourne

To be released in 2013

This product will be a background paper on the changing households in Melbourne.

Victoria in Future (VIF) - Population Projections

To be released in 2013

The Victoria in Future projections are the official population and household projections of the Victorian Government. The projections will be updated using the 2011 Census data.

DPCD may schedule presentations or forums at a later date to assist stakeholders with understanding Census data and using DPCD products.
