Continuing your Governance Training

Participants who complete the three-day workshops may choose to continue their governance training by undertaking the accredited Certificate IV in Business (Governance). This may lead into the Diploma in Business (Governance). Both courses are delivered by Swinburne University and participants are supported by Aboriginal Affairs Victoria (AAV).

Certificate IV in Business (Governance)

The Certificate IV builds on the knowledge and skills introduced in the three day workshop. Upon completion of training, students graduate with a nationally accredited qualification and will be able to progress to a Diploma of Business (Governance).

Diploma in Business (Governance)

Enrolment to the Diploma of Governance course requires the successful completion of the Certificate IV in Business (Governance).

The Diploma program consists of 13 modules, of which eight are mandatory and five are elective. Two of the mandatory modules are completed in Certificate IV in Business (Governance) and can be cross-credited to the Diploma program.

The competencies for the Diploma are complex, reflecting the multifaceted tasks undertaken by Board Directors. These tasks include managing conflict, controlling organisational finances and developing employment policies.
