What else is being done to reduce the administrative burden
Common Schedules to the Funding Agreement
Common schedules for Victorian Indigenous Funding Agreements have been developed. The Victorian Indigenous funding framework (Word 26 kb) shows how these schedules and the terms and conditions fit together to form the funding agreement. While some departments are using these schedules, at this stage funding agencies are not required to use the template schedules to the Victorian Indigenous Funding Agreement. For the Department of Human Services (DHS) it will take some time to change the existing templates in their IT-based funding management system. DHS will use the standard terms and conditions of the VIFA, but will continue to use their department’s existing funding schedules.
Fee Free Insurance
Not-for-profit community based Indigenous organisations that have a VIFA may be eligible for fee-free insurance cover. Contact your funding department to find out more.Future Work
Aboriginal Affairs Victoria (AAV) will continue to look for opportunities to reduce the administrative burden. In the short term we aim to:- simplify the payments process, and make it more consistent across funding departments
- look at ways to collect common reports and documents, like financial audits, proof of insurance, certificates of incorporation etc, in a central place in government, so your organisation will need to provide them just once.
- more streamlined reporting
- a whole of government approach to support your organisation to manage risks and issues
- opportunities to simplify the way activities are funded.
