Minister for Planning's Assessment
The Minister for Planning has released his Assessment under the Environment Effects Act 1978 which concludes the EES process. The Assessment has been provided to statutory decision-makers to inform approval decisions on this project.
Inquiry
The Minister for Planning appointed an Inquiry under the Environment Effects Act 1978 to consider the Bastion Point Boat Ramp.
Following the conclusion of its hearing on 7 August 2008, the Inquiry prepared its report to the Minister for Planning;

Project History
On 17 August 2000 the Minister for Planning determined that an EES was required.
EGSC, as the proponent, prepared the EES to address the Minister's Assessment Guidelines:
The EES was placed on public exhibition from 4 June 2007 to 16 July 2007 and can still be viewed and downloaded from East Gippsland Shire Council’s website at www.egipps.vic.gov.au
Project Description
EGSC proposes to develop facilities at Bastion Point, south of the township of Mallacoota in far East Gippsland, to provide:
- all-tide boat launching facilities, adequately protected from wave action and sediment accumulation, to maximise safe and efficient launching and retrieval
- adequate parking and access, for both vehicles and trailers, to cater for anticipated usage of the facility.
