Lonsdale Golf Course Redevelopment
Proponent: Lonsdale Golf Club Incorporated
Lonsdale Golf Club Inc. has proposed a major redevelopment of the golf course and associated facilities at Fellows Road, Point Lonsdale, to provide:
- extension of the golf course on the current site and adjoining rural land to provide new golf holes, maintenance facilities, water storage basins, and irrigation system, and
- subdivision of a section of the existing golf course into approximately 100 residential allotments.
Minister for Planning's Assessment
In October 2012, the Minister for Planning released his Assessment under the Environment Effects Act 1978, which concluded the Environment Effects Statement (EES) process. Inquiry/Panel Process
The Minister for Planning established a joint Inquiry/Panel to consider the Lonsdale Golf Course Redevelopment project.
Public hearings for the project concluded on 22 February 2012.
The Inquiry/Panel submitted its report on 30 May 2012.

Exhibition of EES
The EES for the Lonsdale Golf Course Redevelopment, together with Amendment C67 to the Greater Geelong Planning Scheme and the Planning Permit Application (No. 1313/2009), were released for public comment from 18 August to 3 October 2011. 167 submissions were received.
The planning scheme amendment and supporting documents can be viewed on the City of Greater Geelong website.
Project History
On 16th May 2003, the Minister for Planning determined that an EES was required.
Assessment Guidelines for this EES were issued in October 2003.
