Princes Highway Duplication - Traralgon East to Kilmany
Proponent: VicRoads
VicRoads proposes to duplicate the Princes Highway between Traralgon East (Stammers Road) and Kilmany (Templetons Road) as part of a larger project to duplicate this highway between Traralgon and Sale.
The proposal does not include the section of the highway which has already been duplicated through the township of Rosedale.
Current Status
The combined Inquiry and Advisory Committee is conducting hearings on 12, 13, 17 and 18 April 2012.
Establishment of a Inquiry and Advisory Committee
A combined Inquiry and Advisory Committee has been appointed to consider the submissions made in response to the proposal.
The following people have been appointed to the Inquiry / Advisory Committee:
- Kathy Mitchell (Chair);
- Des Grogan; and
- Chris Harty.

Hearing Arrangements
Public Hearings, to give submitters an opportunity to be heard in support of their submissions are being held on 12, 13, 17 and 18 April 2012.

Exhibition of EES
The Environment Effects Statement (EES) for the Princes Highway Duplication from Stammers Road, Traralgon East, to Templeton Road, Kilmany, including draft Amendments to the Latrobe and Wellington Planning Schemes, was on public exhibition from 18 January to 9 March 2012.
The EES documents can be viewed and downloaded from the VicRoads website.
Submissions made to the proposal will be made publicly available for any person to inspect upon request by appointment at Planning Panels Victoria, Level 1, 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne (phone 9637 9690 before your visit to arrange access).
Consultation Plan
VicRoads has prepared a Consultation Plan that outlines the opportunities for community engagement during the preparation of the EES.
Project History
On 22 October 2010, the Minister for Planning requested VicRoads to prepare an EES under the Environment Effects Act 1978 to assess the likely environmental effects of the proposal.
Draft Scoping Requirements for this Environment Effects Statement (EES) were placed on public exhibition from 24 January to 14 February 2011. The Minister for Planning issued final Scoping Requirements for the EES on 9 March 2011.
