Melbourne's second highest building approved
19 Apr 2012Planning Minister Matthew Guy has granted a permit with conditions for a $275 million residential and retail development on the site of the former Queensbridge Hotel in Southbank.
The 71-storey (276 metres) residential tower will be Melbourne's second-tallest building and will comprise 592 apartments as well as ground floor and mezzanine retail space.
The development will include improved pedestrian access from Queensbridge Square to Queensbridge Street with further enhancements to surrounding public open space.
