Advisory committees are generally established to consider planning matters under one of the following categories:
- to consider proposals for a specific site, usually for a particular development of that site.
- to review planning controls that do not necessarily apply to a particular site or area, i.e. car parking controls and planning provisions.

Car Parking Advisory Committee 2011
The Car Parking Advisory Committee 2011 has been established to review proposed changes to the car parking provisions in the Victoria Planning Provisions and planning schemes. The advisory committee will consider submissions received about the proposed provisions and recommend a final form for their implementation.

Coastal Climate Change Advisory Committee
An Advisory Committee has been appointed to investigate and recommend ways in which Victoria’s land-use planning and development controls can best support the Victorian Government’s policy for managing the coastal impacts of climate change as outlined within the Victorian Coastal Strategy 2008.The Committee comprises:

Logical Inclusions Advisory Committee

Potentially Contaminated Land Advisory Committee
An Advisory Committee has been appointed to review the planning controls and processes for potentially contaminated land.

Princes Highway Duplication - Traralgon East to Kilmany
VicRoads proposes to duplicate the Princes Highway between Traralgon East (Stammers Road) and Kilmany (Templetons Road) as part of a larger project duplicate this highway between Traralgon and Sale.
The proposal does not include the section of the highway which has already been duplicated through the township of Rosedale.

Regional Rail Link Stage 2 Advisory Committee
An Advisory Committee has been appointed to consider the noise impacts and mitigation responses associated with the approved rail alignment for Section 2 of the Regional Rail Link from west of Werribee to Deer Park.
The Committee comprises:

Urban Growth Boundary Anomalies
The Minister for Planning has established an Advisory Committee to provide advice on proposals for inclusion within the Urban Growth Boundary, in non-growth area councils, of properties that the relevant council considers should be made part of the adjacent urban area.
