Urban Renewal
Urban renewal is the redevelopment of large scale urban neighbourhoods to improve their amenity for residential and mixed use purposes.
The new Urban Renewal Authority will manage the strategic planning for urban renewal sites across Melbourne and regional Victoria, and have an initial focus on the transition between current VicUrban projects and future activities.
The Urban Renewal Authority will:
- carry-out, manage or co-ordinate urban renewal projects across Victoria
- contribute to the implementation of government urban planning and development policies
- undertake declared projects
- complete the development of the docklands area.
