Commonwealth and other State Governments

RDV supports Victoria’s representation on the Standing Committee on Regional Development that comprises representatives of the Australian Local Government Association and the Commonwealth and State Governments. As part of the Council of Australian Governments’ reforms to inter-jurisdictional councils and related bodies, the Standing Committee was dissolved and a new Ministerial Council on Regional Australia established.

Local Government

RDV works closely with Victoria’s 48 regional and rural councils to facilitate economic, infrastructure and socio-economic development. RDV has also partnered with Regional Cities Victoria and Rural Councils Victoria groups to progress common policy issues.

State Government agencies

RDV works with State Government agencies to fulfil its responsibilities under the RDV Act (2002).

Economic development bodies

RDV works closely with regional economic development bodies in facilitating economic, infrastructure and socio-economic development.

Industry associations

RDV regional offices work closely with key regional business networks, associations and industry bodies, including the Victorian Employers’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Australian Industry Group.

Industry Capability Network

RDV works closely with the Industry Capability Network (ICN) in regional areas. The ICN is an independent, not-for-profit Victorian Government-funded service that matches local suppliers with project opportunities, particularly in the manufacturing, engineering and services sectors.

Community organisations

RDV supports and has partnered with a diverse range of community organisations across rural and regional Victoria.

Small Business Victoria

RDV works with Small Business Victoria to support small business development in regional Victoria.
