2011 Spirit of ANZAC Tour for Teachers
20 Jun 2011Applications are now open for the 2011 Spirit of ANZAC Study Tour for teachers. Seven teachers will be selected to participate in the 2011 tour in the 2011 Term 3 / 4 school holidays. Successful applicants will visit sites related to Australian war time history such as Gallipoli and the Western Front.
Teaching and learning about peace, war and conflict is one of the most difficult tasks facing teachers due to the complex nature of the events, which raise emotional and ethical dilemmas for both teacher and student. The 2011 Spirit of ANZAC Study Tour for Teachers is designed to inspire, promote and disseminate a best practice approach to teaching and learning about Australian war time history.
Run by the Shrine of Remembrance and funded by the State Government, applications are now open for seven teachers to participate in a 15 day overseas field study tour during which they will visit sites related to Australian war time history. Closing date for applications is Tuesday 19 July 2011, 12 noon.
