Strong communities prosper

Towns, neighbourhoods and streets thrive when their inhabitants live in safe, active, healthy communities where everyone feels valued and involved. Building resilient communities refers to activities which improve the social, economic and environmental health of the community for the long term, and make communities better equipped to deal with challenges in the future.

Changing the Way Government Works

The Department of Planning and Community Development (DPCD) promotes collaboration at the local level to achieve better outcomes for all. Government can plan and deliver improved services to local communities when all levels of government work together

Office for the Community Sector

Community organisations are an important part of our state. They deliver valuable services to individuals and the community, provide opportunities for social and economic participation, and are central to developing strong communities. Because we know how important they are – in fact it would simply not be possible for the Government to provide the services they deliver without them – we want to help build a strong and supported community sector.
